i don't know if it's caused by me being too picky, having an overly specific sense of aesthetics / style or by the fashion market being too narrow (and i, a retail student, know that that's a complete bullshit as it's exactly the other way around), but finding the right clothing piece is always the most horrible procedure for me. for quite a while already, i only buy clothes i really need (= no impulse buying) and therefore i have a certain vision / expectations about the product and it always takes me several months to find the right piece.
as with my winter jacket, this happened with winter / cold weather shoes. the ones i had got really destroyed, meaning holes at the back and the soles being so 'walked down' that one of them was literally tilted as a part of the right side somehow disappeared over the time and was like 2 cm lower than the other one. haha. basically, i wanted to buy similar-looking shoes - black, ankle high lace-ups, from a vegan material, high quality, affordable price ('affordable' does not mean cheap though, it means the acceptable price for the quality). ha, and that was a real problem.
but last week i finally found the right pair on Avesu.de - simple but cool lace-ups, made in the UK, vegan, good price. they're from a brand called Vegetarian Shoes. you should check the brand out, they have such nice and diverse models and the quality seems to be really good and those shoes i have are really comfy. by the way, Avesu is also worth-checking, they have so many pretty veggie shoes on offer! sadly, they only ship to DE / AT, but if you ever stop by in Berlin, visit their shop for sure. (i used to live 10 mins away from it, aaah)
